A well-matched pair of two-tone salt-glazed stoneware liquor jugs in the classic Canadian commercial style, both featuring rich dark brown Albany-slip glazed upper bodies transitioning to unglazed grey stoneware lower bodies, circa 1900-1920.
The first jug bears a blue-stamped "IMPERIAL" capacity mark on the body and the hand-written base initials "GWW" - likely denoting a distributor, retailer, or returning-deposit customer, consistent with common practice among early Canadian liquor merchants. This example features a flared spout neck without handle.
The companion jug is unmarked, featuring a well-formed applied loop handle and matching glaze character. Both jugs are of comparable size, consistent with 2-pint or 2-quart Imperial capacity.
Together they represent an appealing snapshot of early British Columbia or Prairie stoneware commercial vessel production.
