Vintage decorative dagger featuring a sculpted brass or bronze hilt in the form of an eagle's head, complete with detailed feathering and a curved beak forming the pommel. The cast crossguard carries complementary engraved motifs, and the straight, double-edged blade shows darkened steel with etched designs near the ricasso.

The blade engraving consists of highly stylized, decorative Chinese-inspired characters. These markings are not standard readable script but are typical of mid-20th-century export and presentation daggers, where artists frequently used pseudo-Chinese calligraphic forms to evoke themes of strength, mysticism, or martial symbolism. The skull-like motif near the hilt further reinforces the ornamental nature of the piece.

This dagger aligns with mid-century workshop production aimed at display value rather than functional combat use, combining a dramatic sculptural hilt with engraved blade decoration.

Materials: Brass/bronze hilt; steel blade with stylized engravings.
Era: Mid-20th century decorative production.
Features: Eagle-head pommel; cast crossguard; double-edged blade; pseudo-Chinese engraving; eagle motif.
Notes: Ornamental dagger intended for display; engravings are decorative rather than linguistic.
This type of dagger was commonly produced as a presentation or collector's piece during the mid-20th century, often inspired by earlier European and Middle Eastern decorative weapon forms. The substantial metal hilt, darkened blade finish, and thematic engravings indicate workshop craftsmanship aimed at display value rather than utilitarian performance.
