Vintage brass weather station combining an aneroid barometer, thermometer, and hygrometer, mounted on a wooden base and fitted with a historical commemorative plaque. The rear plaque documents the legacy of Paper Machine No. 1 at the Powell River Mill in British Columbia-Western Canada's first newsprint producer-originally placed into operation in April 1912.

The inscription notes that the machine began at 400 feet per minute with a 30-ton daily output, later upgraded to produce 50 tons per day before its retirement. It also identifies the included solid maple gear tooth, originally part of the crown wheel that drove the calender stack. The machine underwent continuous modifications throughout its 60-year operational lifespan and produced the first roll of newsprint ever made in Western Canada.

This weather station appears to have been assembled as a commemorative or retirement presentation piece, integrating a functional brass instrument set with a historically significant artifact from the mill.
