Vintage mantel clock featuring a patinated cast-metal "Marly Horse" sculpture inspired by Guillaume Coustou's Cheval de Marly, mounted above a polished yellow marble/alabaster clock base. The clock includes an analog dial set into the stone housing and retains a front presentation plaque engraved in Hungarian: "MINDÉG JÓ ÉS BOLDOG ID?T MUTASSON!" (May it always show good and happy times!), dated 1950. I. 4.

A secondary brass maker's plaque on the reverse identifies Wintermantel és Szombathy, a noted Budapest gold, silver, and jewelry manufacturer formerly located at Dohány-utca 7, District VII. This firm operated during the late Austro-Hungarian and early 20th-century period, often producing or retailing luxury clocks, presentation pieces, and fine decorative objects.

This example is likely an early-to-mid 20th-century commemorative gift, combining a faux-marble mantle clock with a cast Marly Horse figure and custom Hungarian dedication.

Materials: Patinated cast metal (bronze-finish), yellow marble/alabaster, brass plaques.
Origin: Hungary, Wintermantel és Szombathy (Budapest VII).
Date: Circa 1930-1950 with engraved 1950 dedication.
Notes: Engraved presentation plaque; maker's plaque on reverse; classic Marly Horse motif.
