Vintage unmarked coil-spring or long-spring foothold trap, similar in form to early Oneida Victor or Newhouse #1 patterns produced in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Constructed with an iron frame, paired metal jaws, a round pan trigger, and an attached anchor chain. The trap has no visible maker's marks, suggesting either a generic early production piece or a locally manufactured variant.

The jaws have been professionally welded open, permanently disabling the mechanism. This modification ensures the trap cannot function and is suitable only as a historical or decorative collectible. Foothold traps of this type were originally used for small-game trapping; when an animal stepped on the pan, the spring released and the jaws snapped shut to hold the leg.

Due to modern ethical and wildlife-protection regulations, traps of this design are now obsolete and prohibited for most practical use. They are primarily collected for their rustic appearance, early industrial craftsmanship, and association with frontier trapping history.

Materials: Iron frame; steel jaws; spring assembly; anchor chain.
Era: Late 19th to early 20th century style.
Markings: None present.
Features: Round pan trigger; dual jaws; welded-open mechanism; attached chain.
Notes: Permanently disabled; suitable for display, historical collections, or rustic décor.
