Vintage brass artillery shell casing stamped K.F.C. 1/5, repurposed into a trench-art decorative piece. Shells marked with K.F.C. (Krupp-Friedrichshütte Cast) and fractional lot numbers such as 1/5 are typically associated with early-to-mid 20th-century European munitions production. Soldiers and workshop personnel frequently converted spent casings into trench-art objects during and after the First and Second World Wars.

This example has been hand-worked into a polished display form, retaining its original military manufacturing marks while showing the characteristic shaping, hammering, or decorative modification associated with trench-art craftsmanship. The flared base and symmetrical side knobs indicate intentional reworking for aesthetic or commemorative use.

Materials: Solid brass shell casing.
Markings: K.F.C. 1/5 stamped base.
Era: WWI-WWII period shell; trench-art conversion mid-20th century.
Features: Polished brass finish; modified decorative form; original ordnance stamp.
Notes: Representative example of soldier-made or post-service trench art using surplus artillery components.
